Class Description: Learn how to sew...  Make a pillowcase and pajama bottoms.  In this series, you will learn all the basics which will allow you to read and use a pattern to construct a simple garment.  You will also get the fundamental basics of sewing "under your belt", and be ready to move up to our intermediate sewing classes.

Class Description: Take your basic sewing skills to the next level!  Learn to set in sleeves, learn basic hand-sewing and finishing techniques to enhance your garment, hone and improve your basic sewing skills.  If you're looking for a class to advance your knowledge and improve your confidence in making your own clothing, rather than waiting for a sale at your local department store, this is the class for you.

Class Description: This class is for YOU! if you have mastered basic and intermediate sewing skills. You must have working knowledge of these skills, or have completed our Beginning & Intermediate Sewing classes in order to take this series.  This class series will allow you to fine tune and enhance those skills you've acquired, learn to set in a zipper and make buttonholes, master techniques such as welt pockets, understitching, collars, etc.  If you've always wanted that professional, designer finish for your garments, this is the class for you.
  
Heirloom Quilting Blocks

Dates: 2nd Saturday of each month

Kit: $20 (first month - kit price will vary each month)


Many have asked us to do a class, creating an heirloom quilt (the photo just doesn't capture the detail!).  In this class you will learn many lace-building, embroidery (machine & hand), free-motion, shadow applique, cut-work, puffing, paper-piecing, regular applique and crazy patch, and more.... We will be creating a quilt block each month.
Sweatshirt Jacket Conversion

Create a beautiful quilted jacket from a used (or new) sweatshirt!  You will not believe how easily this jacket goes together.  You'll have many options on the style of your jacket, and many creative ways to embellish it.

 

Heirloom Camisole

Come and sew a special camisole using your decorative stitches on your machine, along with pin tucks and heirloom stitches.  Add a bit of lace and you have a beautiful camisole to wear under your jackets.

  Heirloom I Notebook

Class Cost:  $50.00 + $20.00 kit fee

Make your own notebook of techniques on how to do "French Hand Sewing" on your sewing machine.  When you are finished, you will be a pro at rolling and whipping, lace insertion, puffing, and working with entredeux and lace.  Kit will be furnished at start of class ($20 fee).

This class is required to join the “Heirloom Block of the Month” which will be starting in January 2009.

Heirloom II Notebook

Class Time: 6:00 – 9:00 PM

Class Cost:  $60.00 + $20.00 for kit

Come learn the next techniques in heirloom sewing.

You will learn many lace shapes.  How to combine your lace shapes to form borders.

You know how to do pintucks, now learn to do shaping with them.

Create a scalloped pintuck hem and combine pintucks with your lace shapes.

Create shapes also with lace tape.


Serger Heirloom Gown

Every woman likes pretty lingerie.  Now you can sew your heirloom gown on a serger.  you will learn how to do pintucks, attach lace to fabric, and many more techniques to create your special gown.  You can also use your sewing machine for this class series (2 classes).
